The problem
Contractors could not find skilled laborers when a job came up. Laborers could not find work. Both sides existed — they just had no reliable way to meet.
The problem
This is a matching problem wearing the costume of a staffing problem.
A contractor with a job starting Monday needs three skilled laborers by Friday. Somewhere nearby, three skilled laborers are looking for exactly that work. Neither side has a reliable way to find the other, so contractors fall back on whoever they used last time and laborers fall back on waiting for a phone call.
Both sides lose. The contractor overpays or under-staffs, and the laborer sits idle in a market that actually wants them.
What we built
A two-sided marketplace app. Contractors post jobs with the skills, timing, and location they need. Laborers see work they are actually qualified for and can take it on demand.
The hard part of any marketplace is not the software, it is the cold start and the trust. So the build focused on making a posted job unambiguous — clear scope, clear timing, clear requirements — because vague listings are what kill matching quality before liquidity ever becomes the problem.
